2008 was in my opinion not her year at all. I think her experience as First Lady did not work in her favor. Just a weirdness associated with transitioning from political spouse into political office at that level and speed. In 2016 she will be an elder stateswoman with a lot of experience in two different offices, as well as a veteran of a presidential campaign. And her First Lady role will be ancient history.
Though 2016 is likely to be a Republican year, given historical patterns. If it isn't, we might well be into a new historical era of some importance.
