Note that at the END of their austerity, government expenditures were just below 60% of their GDP. And they have higher taxes than us too - so much so that the right USUALLY says Sweden is a socialist lefty bunch who we SHOULDN'T follow. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Government_spending

Do I agree that at some point we should cut spending and raise taxes? Yeah. We aren't there until the economy starts growing, though. Getting very impatient with the way the right throws out stuff like this that just don't support what they are trying to say is true.

All I can say is, if Sweden is the best example of austerity the far right can come up with, to be like them, we'd have to INCREASE both spending AND taxes. Great job, guys, really.
