Funny that we never see that suggested by the Republicans, instead they point to bizarre comparisons of percentage of GDP vs. during WW II or the Cold War. Pure distraction.

I do totally get that too much taxation can cause problems, but you also never seem to acknowledge that not all taxation is equal. Nor is it equally applied.
Letting the, yes, destructive, Bush tax cuts for the wealthy expire is a far cry from increasing the tax burden on the lower middle class, as Republican plans always seem to end up.
Oh, more cuts I'd be in favor of: Subsidies on fossil fuels & agribusiness. Cut the DEA. Spend less on imprisoning perpetrators of victimless crimes.
I could go on...
But history, most economists & Europe's current example all point to the benefit of government spending during a recession. Don't forget that.
