is that scripture itself was created by specific people, for various secular purposes, two of which were to emphasize the power of the Roman Emperor and another of which was to place women in an even more subservient role than that original texts provided. It codified books that had written down earlier Christian oral traditions. One can only surmise what Jesus himself actually did, thought and said. You can't discard the New Testament, but from a historical view, it is difficult to imagine it is accurate.
