period. At the government level, things just work differently. There are conservative ways to look at the deficit and liberal ways and ways that are neither. But the simple truth is, the government does not run like a family budget and it shouldn't.

And mind you, it was just 6 years ago when conservative Bush apologists were patiently explaining to the Democrats why deficits don't matter and are an "investment in America".
