Interesting question. I know many on here look down on that sort of public action. Do we need more direct action? Is voting with our iPods on really enough?

We had an event on the weekend that we put a good amount of work into getting the word out... but we had a pretty poor turnout. People from our group and another group showed up, but the general public? No where to be found.

No one had the time or the energy, it seems. Chomsky has it right: good food, sports, TV, all of it distracts us from the problems in the world. Once we're done with our sweets, we can't be bothered to make the world a better place. And as we're being dragged down, smothered, covered in wrapped of toxic-laced fat by those who want more than their fair share, we just post our smiling mugs on facebook.

It's all okay. Don't worry. Go about your business. Obama's got this.
