VIABLE alternatives. You phase it in where you won't see a drop in productivity or a huge rise in prices, etc. That is just common sense.

2) Anybody can say that anything can replace what we have with more technological breakthroughs. It's not there yet, and that's what prompted this discussion.

3) Who said anything about not developing new sources of energy? Nobody.
