Everyone has their own definition of torture.

I would consider just being locked up in jail as torture because I value my freedom so much.

Is it just actual pain, or does it include mental anguish?

We will always need the ability to use various forms of interrogation as a tool, but we stop short of methods which rely on extreme pain.
