Palin used a failed VP bid to get a profitable book and lecture deal. Huckabee used a failed run for president to get a show on Fox News.

It depends on what you're looking for. And it's possible that the economy will go South, or the negative advertising will work, and you will suddenly find yourself a heartbeat away from the most powerful job in American politics. You never know.
