unemployment. It is difficult/functionally impossible to game out that much unemployment from "failure" of financial institutions.

The importance of the supervisory power of bankruptcy courts typically doesn't get discussed, especially when little Bush and Paulson are running a scam. But any serious effort to appraise the risk of derivatives has to weigh that supervisory power heavily.
