Then China had a civil war, Palestinian civil war which morphed into the Arab Israeli war.

Not sure how the numbers of German Jews got thrown in the mix - civil war or what?

But even if we have conflicts these days the number of people dying tends to be far smaller - aside from Africa. Sub-Saharan Africa seems to still manage to have very high death tolls for the conflicts they have. But historically these numbers are all dwindling.
