What needed to be said was that police were doing everything they could to build a case against this guy, because they need to send a clear message that this kind of behavior - the armed stalking and confrontation of innocent children - is unacceptable in a free society and will not be tolerated. And that Florida law makes that very difficult, but that they are working on it.

Instead we got "you're the real racists."
