What you have seen is three libs (O'Connor, Souter, and Stevens) appointed by Republican Presidents, four libs appointed by Dem Presidents, four Conservatives appointed by Republican Presidents, and one swing vote appointed by Republican Presidents. Seems kinda one-side, don't you think?
John Paul Stevens Ford
Sandra Day O'Connor Reagan
Antonin Scalia Reagan
Anthony Kennedy Reagan
David Souter Bush, G. H. W.
Clarence Thomas Bush, G. H. W.
Ruth Bader Ginsburg Clinton
Stephen Breyer Clinton
John G. Roberts†Bush, G. W.
Samuel Alito Bush, G. W.
Sonia Sotomayor Obama
Elena Kagan Obama
Also, nominees used to breeze by fairly easily until the Dems changed all that with their attacks on Thomas and Bork.
So, I don't need to hear any more about SCOTUS nominees.
