People calling themselves "true conservatives" are anything but conservative. The term "liberal" has lost all meaning, and has been so distorted by Fox News etc. that it's nothing more than an insult fired off by stupid people now.

And yes, what I was trying to say is that most of the divide is purely cultural. It's a dumbed down version of Jefferson v. Hamilton in a lot of ways. Really dumbed down.
