Obama and the feds stepped up and committed.

Not only are they gonna create a whole department/partnership for it, they had reps from the DOT, EPA and HUD make an announcement arm-in-arm that they were going to work together to move ahead on "federal smart growth".

Joel Kotkin's recent linked article about Obama being at war with the burbs thus not altogether untrue, even if he sounded totally batshit and unsubstantiated.

Fuck that guy.
