the big assumption that she'd be inevitable. Obama also out-organized her and blitzed her on the money side. I can't say I saw it coming or anything, but her initial strategy of relying on party endorsements and a top down approach is reminiscent of Ed Muskie in 1972, where McGovern came in with a stealth campaign that kicked his ass to the curb with a grassroots approach.

Of course Obama doesn't have to run against Nixon, so the story will, I hope, have a happier ending.
