I don't think that farmer I sighted that had just purchased a farm, and had invested all of his resources in the farm, only to have the government shut it down, devalue it, and then comfiscate it without compensation would agree with you. The overall effect of the economy may not be noticed by the average american, but the average american that owned that farm was sure affected. Same with the farmers in Oregon, and the loggers in the northwest. Have we really come to a point where we are willing to let a few individuals livlihoods get ruined for the sake of trees and rodents and fish that really are not in that much danger?
