Historically, the Dems have typically won this sub-battle.
Four years ago, they had Bush's drunk driving arrest, which almost cost Bush the election.
I remember when Barbara Boxer, then behind in the polls, beat Bruce Herschenson by going public with some (perhaps trumped-up) charge that Herschenson patronized pornography.
Then there was the time that Special Prosecutor Lawrence Walsh (a renagade Republican) went public about Nov 1 with a report skewering George 41.
The GOP doesn't seem to understand this type of "campaigning".
Anyhow, I expect a humungous Haloween Surprise from the Dems in 13/14 days.
