Police in Oceanside, Calif., say someone broke into Junior Seau’s garage and stole a bicycle just five days after the NFL legend and former Patriot killed himself.
Oceanside police Lt. Leonard Mata told the Herald this afternoon police are investigating a May 7 burglary at Seau’s oceanfront home, saying the thief entered through a dog door and stole a $500 bicycle belonging to one of Seau’s friends. The suspect did not enter Seau’s home. The investigation is ongoing, Mata said.
Seau died May 2. Authorities say he fired a fatal shot into his chest. His family has agreed to let medical researchers study his brain to see whether he suffered long-term damage from concussions during his years as one of the NFL’s premier hard-hitters.
