Going to SF to visit sis and then off to LAX/Yosemite/LAS. Any tips on SF hotels/car rents?

Also if anyone's living in the Bay Area, how work offers are doing there? Spanish is my main language (left SF as kiddo) and have minor degrees in web communication/design and journalism, might want to get a taste of US after decades of living abroad. I know that will love the vacations but until getting a job can't tell for sure :P
