I don't think it will stop. Amazing how some dudes not so great idea from the early 80s, ie Transformers, is a story that is still being told this summer and pulling massive dollars.
Will we ever encourage anybody to actually create anything of their own, or can we expect "Next Generation" Transformers the movie, ie Star Trek, coming to a theater near you in 2030?
I cannot wait for that one.
