Never applied for a job in the US. Here is my cover letter. Q: Is that anywhere close to what's expected? Do I need to spice it up a little?

Dear Ms Kaufmann
I am writing in response to your advertisement for the position of Assistant to Managing Director North America posted on the Jobwinner website. I have lived and worked in Ireland for the last 4 years and had the opportunity to gain valuable insight into the business structures of several high profile companies such as Yahoo!, Zurich Financial Services and Pfizer Pharmaceuticals. In Switzerland, I worked for a Pension Fund and was involved in Projects of Innovation Second Pillar, a network of experts in the Swiss Pension industry.

Going forward, I hope to pursue a career in a pension fund related role with international exposure and I am therefore looking for the right opportunity to be a part in the development of a high-quality business and to further my education in this field accordingly. I have good professional experience in financial controlling, dealing with substantial contracts and project work and definite practical knowledge as well as conceptual interest in the pension fund / investment fund industry.

I am organized, show initiative, pay attention to detail and am skilled at working on multiple projects. Also, I have attained good proficiency and confidence using database applications.

Most importantly, I am looking for a rewarding career opportunity in an intelligent, team-oriented environment that allows me to fulfill my potential.

I would like to meet with you to learn more about this opportunity. My phone number is ....and my email address is ......
Best regards,
Christian N
