OAKLAND -- Jason Richardson missed Golden State Warriors practice Thursday so he could fly to Los Angeles to have his ailing right hand examined by a specialist.
The Warriors' leading scorer hurt his shooting hand initially in the second game of the season against Utah, and while he has been able to play through the pain, swelling persisted to the point where he felt a more thorough examination was necessary.
The Warriors hope to get the findings today, at which point a decision on his availability for Saturday's home game against Memphis will be made.
NOTES: Mickael Pietrus went through his first full-scale practice of the season Thursday and, barring a mishap today, will be activated for the Memphis game. The second-year swingman underwent surgery on his left (non-shooting) shoulder July 21 after suffering a dislocation in a summer-league game. ... The Warriors will debut an orange-colored "road" uniform in Tuesday's home game against New Orleans. No, it will not say "The City" across the front.
