Whatever happened to "sticks and stones can break my bones but words can never hurt me," and "turn the other cheek?"

I believe the best response (for anyone) is to mentally think "This person is an idiot, is full of shit, and I'm not going to let him bring me down to his level," say "F you" and then ignore the person.

I don't believe in revenge and eye-for-an-eye - down that road madness lies...
