So how do they select the players for the 3pt Shootout, Dunk Contest and Skills Challenge?

Korver is #1 in 3pt% but he's not participating. Vasquez leads the league in assists but no invite. And where did they get that list of dunkers? Except for Faried (#7), none of them made the top 50 dunk leaders. If anything, Harrison Barnes should be in it (see link...nuff said). What gives?

Ryan Anderson, New Orleans Hornets (current league leader in 3s, shoots better than 40% from beyond the arc, participated in last year’s shootout but was eliminated in the first round)

Steve Novak, New York Knicks (205 of his 243 shoot attempts this season have come from 3-point range)

Stephen Curry, Golden State Warriors (should also be participating in the All-Star game)

Matt Bonner, San Antonio Spurs (the Red Rocket shoots 42% from 3-point range)

Paul George, Indiana Pacers (will also play in his first ever NBA All-Star game the following night)

Slam Dunk Competition

Utah Jazz forward Jeremy Evans (former Western Kentucky forward is the defending champion)

Los Angeles Clippers, Eric Bledsoe (CP3s backup can do more than run the point, the kid has mad hops)

Denver Nuggets, Kenneth Faried (with a nickname like Manimal, you know this dude can throw it down)

Indiana Pacers forward/guard Gerald Green (can this underdog surprise everyone and leave Houston as Slam Dunk champion?)

New York Knicks forward/guard James White (nicknamed “Flight” White, he competed against NBA All-Star David Lee in the 2001 McDonald’s High School dunk contest)

Toronto Raptors forward/guard Terrence Ross (his team started the #LetRossDunk campaign to ensure this high flying rookie had a spot in the contest)

Skills Competition

Tony Parker, San Antonio Spurs (defending Skills Comp. champion)

Jrue Holiday, Philadelphia 76ers (also making his first All-Star game appearance)

Brandon Knight, Detroit Pistons (happy that punch happy Metta World Peace won’t be part of the challenge)

Damian Lillard, Portland Trail Blazers (will also compete with Hornets rookie Anthony Davis in the BBVA Rising Stars Challenge game )

Jeremy Lin, Houston Rockets (Linsanity may not be in the All-Star game, but there was no way David Stern would keep him out of All-Star Weekend)

Jeff Teague, Atlanta Hawks (the 24 year old may be the quickest among his competitors)
