there's a long history of the "if you're not cheating, you're not trying" mentality.

Considering the prevalence in this era, you should have expected many of the best to have been cheating, and you can lay the bulk of the blame for how bad it got on Selig.

Take all the cheaters and all the bad character guys out of the hall and you can downsize it into a studio apartment.
