The Warriors already have 6 guys on the active roster that are legitimate NBA scorers. Make it 7 when Bogut comes back healthy. Curry and Lee are already 20 pts/game players and need their shots. Gay would give them 3 guys who kind of need the ball. Not necessarily a bad thing, but what do you do when Bogut comes back? Though he's not a high volume scorer he is a guy that you can run a low post offense through, which will become very important come playoff time when the game tends to slow down a bit. Having Gay on the roster would be great, but it would be more of a luxury move than one born of necessity. Now throw in his massive contract, and the need to give up a very promising young player, who has the potential of becoming as good as Gay is within a couple of years....at a much-MUCH-lower cost, and acquiring Gay for any package that includes Barnes just simply does not make sense.
