I understand your point but the reality is the NBA has become a jump shooting league and the majority of the teams will live and die by it. Even teams with legit post players and slashers still settle for perimeter shots during crunch time more often than not because you can get those shots easier and with less risk. Teams know that refs tend to allow more contact late in games and don't want to risk turnovers driving to multiple defenders. the elite players do it because they get those 50/50 calls.
