I'd be as happy as anyone if Alex Smith never starts another 49ers game again because of Kaepernick taking over, but there's no way around it - losing the job due more to a concussion than anything else is pretty shitty.

We all know Smith's limitations on the football field but this whole thing would've been a lot easier if he'd been playing like complete crap.
