On Wednesday the Oklahoma City NBA franchise revealed it's name, colors, and logo to the world.
The Oklahoma City Thunder will now call the Ford Center home.
The name is passable, not the best they could have gone with, but I won't go over that again. The colors are fine, with the exception that they bare a striking resemblance to the Golden State Warriors colors.
That leaves us with the logo, the cause of all the stir on the Internet.
After the long wait, this is what OKC got...
I'll start off by saying it's not what I would choose for a team named "Thunder", but it's not the worst thing I've ever seen. The logo bares little likeness to what anyone would consider to be Thunder. Aside from that it's not as bad as some NBA logos, although chatter on some message boards make you think this thing is the worst thing ever designed for a professional team.
It's simply not.
I can name six teams that have worse logos; the Indiana Pacers, Houston Rockets, Los Angeles Lakers, Los Angeles Clippers, Detroit Pistons, and Portland Trailblazers. With the lone exception of Houston, none of those logos have anything to do with their name.
In conclusion I think that Oklahoma City's new logo is not the worst, but it's the 24th best logo in the 30 team NBA.
They can improve on it and supposedly they will release other marks later on before the beginning of the season.
Sounds like this logo is just a place holder to me.
Fans in OKC should be happy regardless on the choice of logo, they finally have a "Major League" franchise to call their own.
Personally, I think it will be a big success.

I think the Warriors are trying to sell tickets
