I guess you were among the first to agree with Monte Poole every time he complained about the A's not having enough black players, too.
I think I get it now. The A's won their ALDS series in 2006 because they had good black players like Thomas and Bradley and lost the others because they didn't.
Thomas was great against the Twins and did nothing against the Tigers. Bradley did nothing against the Twins but was great against the Tigers.
The reasons they advanced in 2006 had more to do with their pitching and not making mistakes than anything else. They finally stepped on the throats of their opponent without giving them a chance to get back into it where one game would decide it all.
