Plan A. They gave him an extension of 28mil in addition to the last year of his contract. He turned down 3yr/45mil, or 15mil/year. Why? Because he got lucky (or collusion) that the Clips suddenly had the money to call Mullin's bluff. Fine.
Plan B. Offer big money to some free agents who would make as big a difference as Baron; Arenas and Brand. No go.
Plan C. Move Ellis to full time PG and get him a backup. Move Jackson to SG, and get Maggette, another 20+ scorer to take Jackson's place at SF. Get Turiaf to backup Biedrins, and possibly play some PF (4.25mil/yr is not outrageous for a good backup these days).
The result? A deeper team that may be able to win nearly as many games as last year while still developing young talent, and still having the contracts of Harrington, Jackson, and Foyle coming off next season.
