I also don't like the fact that they bypassed putting together offers for Iggy and Smith and instead went straight for Maggette and overpaid in the process. Stupid move and the main reason I agree with Chase's analysis. Seems like they couldn't take another failed attempt as signing someone, so they throw money at Maggette just to not have to get rejected again. If Smith and Iggy don't work out, fine. Go into the next offseason armed with your cap space and high draft pick and rebuild the following year.
I love the draft.
I don't mind the Turiaf deal but it's a little too much to pay.
I love the Marcus Williams signing.
I'm not liking the potential Evans signing though. He's a 30 year old role player who's going to want a deal closer to Azubuike's. He's not starter quality, so why not go with the younger guy that has the potential to be more than what Evans is already.
This offseason can be salvaged if they could pull a big trade for Smith, Okafor, Marion, or Odom. If not, I give it a D+.
