had the W's ponied up the assets to get KG and given him an extension, they would have had to use their cap exceptions to fill out the roster... the total balance of those moves puts them in luxury tax territory.

There were several obstacles in getting KG... Boston moving ahead of GS as a desired destination on draft night being a significant one. That said, if there's even a shred of truth to Steinmetz blurb, the W's are going to need some insane luck to contend under their current leadership.
