Q: You going to get the rookie treatment?

A: I think so. I'm ready for it. I don't know what they do nowadays but probably just carrying some bags.

Q: What have the last few months been like for you since draft day? Take us through what you've done.

A: It really hasn't been that crazy. Before the draft was crazy, traveling all the time and stuff like that. But afterwards I went to summer league and didn't play then I went home for about a month and was working out. I came here for about 5 or 6 weeks and did a lot of working out and conditioning for training camp and here we are now. It's been pretty relaxed, actually. Everything's been good.

Q: Were the Warriors a team on your radar or were you kind of surprised at how things shook out on draft day?

A: I was surprised I ended up here. I didn't know that they were looking at me or looking to make a trade, because they were picking so low and no one really knew they were going to make a move. I was surprised but I was very happy with the situation.

Q: With the playoff run last year, was that something you were following at all?

A: Yeah I did. That was very interesting to watch, going and playing so well in the first round and getting an upset, and the series wasn't even that close. It was very exciting to see. The second series they ran out of gas but it was a good playoff run.

Q: As a player in a system like this, is it something you get excited about the chance to play in?

A: Yeah. It's a wide open style. The way you play, you can showcase your skills, getting up and down, running, playing at a high level and not slowing the game down. You can do your own thing. It's a style everyone should like playing.

Q: What were some of the things you thought about when the Warriors traded for you on draft day?

A: My first thought was that it's a good fit for me, as a player and the way I want to play. There are a lot of athletic guys who can get up and down the court and use their minutes to their advantage, so I was very excited about everything when the trade went down.

Q: With some of the expectations Don Nelson has for his rookies, sometimes making it harder for them to break into his rotation, what are some of the things you're expecting in your first season?

A: I'm not the type of guy who focuses on his playing time, points and rebounds and getting accolades and all that stuff. I'm just a guy who wants to come in here and learn and continue to get better each and every day. I'm gonna have my ups and downs but I've gotta continue to be on that upper slope of getting better. That's the biggest thing for me.

Q: You've worn #34 in your high school and college career. Was there any reason for the change to #32?

A: It's a new beginning. I just wanted to switch it up. It wasn't anything that was like, "Oh I've gotta switch to #32." Plus Mike Dunleavy wore it when he was here, so I just wanted to do something different.

Q: Are they asking you to reach a target weight or bulk up to a certain extent?

A: No, they haven't. I've just been working out, getting stronger and doing the best I can. The biggest thing is how you produce on the court, and obviously the strength and those things definitely come into play.

Q: What would you say your biggest strengths and weaknesses are right now coming into the league?

A: I think one of my biggest strengths is I can really run the court well and get up and down. I can rebound, block shots, make a lot of shots in the paint. I think my jump shot is very consistent now because I've put a lot of time into it. I think the biggest weakness is needing to get stronger. You can't really rush the process because I'm only 19 and I still have a lot of maturing to do but other than that I think everything's going well right now.
