1) How does it feel to be back in the playoffs again?
Amazing. Playoff basketball is something I have been watching regularly for a while but it's hard to root for a team when you don't really care who wins. Having your team in it (albeit as a 8th seed) is the best feeling in the world.
2) Nellie did a lot to start the foundation for this Mavs team, but what
does he mean to the Warriors team, fans, and organization?
When the players look at their bench, they don't see Eric Musselman, Mike Montgomery (the list goes on), they see the 2nd most "winningest" coach in NBA history. They believe in him, so the fans do too.
3) What?s the mood with Warrior fans when it comes to the Mavs and this
series? a) I am happy we made the playoffs but we will lose to the Mavs even
though we have beaten them this season. b) It should be a close series that
could go either way. c) We have dominated the Mavs the past two seasons and
should be able to beat them in 5-6 games.
B. I don't truly believe we can win this series, because I've never seen any of our players play a game in the playoffs (other then Stephen Jackson). How do they handle that added stress? Are they going to force dumb shots? But the thing is, Dallas has been the ONE team we've been able to play really well against at all times. I don't know what it is, but it's happened the last 2 years.
4) The key to this series for Golden State to win is??
All about Baron Davis. He's our leader, and is playing out of his mind right now. If he can distribute the ball around, drive the lane, nail some jump shots, we'll be really, really hard to stop.
5) The key to this series for Dallas to win is?..
Their front court. They have a much better rebounding front court then we do. If they can slow down the pace and get open looks, we probably won't see more then 5 games.
6) Who will be the ?X-factor? in this series?
I think it's going to be Jason Richardson. He's won a championship at Michigan State, but he's never even sniffed the playoffs in the NBA level. I wonder how he will perform? Lately, he's been our best scorer, averaging 23+ points, 46% from the floor, and 50% from 3-point range. If he keeps this level of consistency up, I don't see who can guard him.
7) When it is all said and done, who wins and in how many games?
I still think Dallas will win in 6. I can definitely see us winning, but Dallas is just so much more experienced then we are, so it's hard to say we'd win this one.
